How many acupuncture treatments will I need?
This depends on how long you have had your injury or condition and the severity of that injury or illness. Usually you will receive treatment once or twice a week until your symptoms stabilise.
You may start to feel benefits after the first or second treatment although long-standing and chronic conditions usually need more time to improve.
Sudden minor injuries or minor health conditions can take roughly between 3 - 6 sessions.
Chronic long term conditions may take longer from 6 - 12 sessions, if not more.
Once your health has stabilised you may need top-up treatments every few weeks. Traditional acupuncture is also very effective when used as preventive healthcare and many people like to go for a tune up session at the change of each season throughout the year.
There is no limit to how frequently you can have acupuncture sessions, for acute conditions it is sometimes preferably to have your sessions close together for quicker results.
